Solar Carport HUK-Coburg

4 MW above the parking lot – record-speed steel for HUK-Coburg For HUK-Coburg’s new solar carport we supplied roughly 260 tonnes of structural steel – designed and erected by the Rudolf Hörmann
Group. From the moment the order was placed, speed mattered: within just two months we fabricated, staged and delivered the full
tonnage. Manufacturing took place in our Ramec 1 and Ramec 2 facilities, with an emphasis on tight tolerances and erection-friendly
components.

Logistics was a project of its own. Several primary beams reached lengths of up to 16 metres, which required MAFI transport via Trieste.
In total, seven MAFI shipments were dispatched, supported by eight containers routed through the port of Koper. From there the cargo
moved on to Coburg – on schedule, despite a very narrow delivery window

Parking-lot canopies are a key enabler for building solar power plants without consuming new land. With more than 4 MW installed,
HUK-Coburg is making a clear statement: generate clean energy exactly where daily life happens – right above the parking spaces

To keep erection moving smoothly, components were bundled for installation, clearly labeled and dispatched in the intended assembly
sequence. On carport grids, bolt patterns and node accuracy directly drive on-site speed. That allowed the Hörmann crew to maintain a
steady rhythm without rework – keeping the schedule secure despite the demanding supply chain. The result is a high-volume steel
package delivered fast – with the reliability and repeatability a multi-megawatt carport demands.
